Evelyn “Eve” Cardwell, (b. 2002, Asheville, NC) is a visual artist currently living and working out of Boone, NC. Their areas of focus are painting and drawing media. Eve works primarily with acrylic paint but will utilize the materiality of oil paint, watercolor, gouache, and soft pastels in combination or individually. Eve’s work explores the experience of being human through body and emotion. They utilize the human form to convey complex emotional experiences through their choice of color, the composition of the figure, and the sense of light. Eve creates mostly figurative work that has a romantic, dreamy, and atmospheric quality.
